Sony PlayStation 3 Wireless Headsets Are PlayStation 4 Compatible

Michael McWhertor of Polygon has confirmed via Twitter that Sony brand PlayStation 3 wireless headsets will be compatible with Sony’s upcoming PlayStation 4 console. This is a huge relief to gamers as wireless headsets typically cost approximately half of your arm and a quarter of your leg. The headsets pictured (above) shows gamers using current gen Sony brand wireless headsets while playing PlayStation 4 games Driveclub, Octodad: Dadliest Catch, and Knack.

Besides making their system backwards compatible, it looks like Sony is taking a decidedly customer friendly approach to the PlayStation 4. I can already hear Tretton whispering “If you build it, they will come…” The PlayStation 4 will also ship with an earbud style headset as part of it’s standard edition.
