Trailer Tuesday #3

Welcome to another brand new edition of Trailer Tuesday! Last week we featured our first giveaway (a free Redbox movie rental for two different people) after you guys hit up the comments with your favorite trailers. This week will be pretty much be the same but with the addition of Trailer Tuesday Game Edition, we’re only giving out one free Redbox movie rental this week.

Again, all you have to do is hit up the comment section and talk about your favorite of today’s trailers and I’ll announce the winner on next week’s installment!

Kick-Ass 2 - Featuring the return of Chloe Grace Moretz, Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Christopher Mintz-Plasse, the sequel also welcomes newcomers Donald Faison, John Leguizamo and Jim Carrey and opens in theaters on August 13, 2013. I’m a huge fan of the first film so I’m definitely excited for this one, as it looks like more of what made the first one so fun. That’s pretty impressive when you consider the sequel features a new director in Jeff Wadlow (Never Back Down). Still, Kick-Ass 2 is definitely on my list of most anticipated films of the year.

Scary Movie 5 - The next installment of the Scary Movie franchise features some big names but it looks like the main stars are Ashley Tisdale and Scary Movie staple Simon Rex with, as you can tell, a bunch of cameos littered in around them. It opens in theaters on April 12, 2013. Admittedly, I liked the franchise when it first started: I was young and a fan of the Wayans brothers. But, I really can’t believe they’re making another one of these: just let it die already.

Somebody Up There Likes Me - Starring Nick Offerman, Keith Poulson and Jess Weixler, Somebody Up There Likes Me is currently available in select theaters and On-Demand. I’m a huge Parks & Recreation fan so Offerman’s involvement immediately caught my eye, especially since he’s also producing the film. The film itself doesn’t look like it revolutionizes the industry but it does look like a solid indie comedy.

Veronica Mars: Kickstarter - It was a slow week for trailers so there wasn’t a lot to choose from but I felt like this is would be a solid addition. After all, it is technically the trailer for the Kickstarter project. As covered in my TV article earlier, the film has already reached its minimum goal but you can still donate, as anything will certainly help the filmmakers make the best movie possible. We can’t say who will definitively star in it other than Kristen Bell but it looks like Ryan Hansen and Jason Dohring will be returning for the feature film, as well.

Well, that’s it for this week. Be sure and hit up the comments for your chance to win a free Redbox movie rental! In the mean time, don’t forget to check out my film and TV articles.
