Playstation 4 New Games Announced

The Sony Playstation 4 Announcement yesterday brought joy to many, and fear to some (Microsoft). During the early going of the two hour conference we we’re privy to technical specifications (some at least) of the Playstation 4 Console. I’m so glad I don’t have to call it Orbis anymore! Some of the biggest news came from Sony’s First Party Developers. Dev’s like Guerrilla Games, Sucker Punch, and Quantic Dream were on hand with announcements and demo’s of upcoming titles. Third party support was also apparent as Capcom and Square Enix hit the stage with amazing Cinematics. Ubisoft may have stole the third party show with their presentation. Bungie brought Destiny to the party for the whole ‘Where not only on Xbox anymore’ thing as well.

First up let’s talk about our favorite new games to come out of the Playstation 4 reveal. My number one draft would have to be based on not only Cinematics, but the game play I saw as well. Let’s take a look in Descending order.

Ubisoft: Watch Dogs

Guerrilla Games: Killzone Shadowfall

Capcom: Deep Down (Cinematic only)

Sucker Punch: Infamous: Second Son

Bungie: Destiny (This is purely due to the fact Destiny had already been revealed)

There’s our favorites from the conference, and now let’s talk about some other titles we saw that we weren’t as crazy about. I’m just not a huge racing fan, so when Driveclub was announced it incited only minor enthusiasm for me, but let’s face it those cars looked absolutely stunning. Knack was the first game we saw running on PS4 technology and it reminded me of Diney/Pixar’s The Incredibles when it came to visuals. I’m not much of a “cute” game lover so this cinematic was more about the graphical potential of the system rather than anything I was interested in. The Witness came in last because I just really felt nothing while watching the presentation, and that usually means…well nothing.

There’s sure to be more to come between now and E3 and we’ll keep you up to date on it all.
