New Playstation 4 Details Emerge
The Playstation Blog has brought more specs to the table in terms of Sony’s new Dual Shock 4 controller. Also note that the Playstatioin 4 will ship with not only a Dual Shock 4 Controller, but an accompanying headset! That’s in stark contrast to the PS3 launch. Here’s some details provided by Shuhei Yoshida:
- Motion control is enabled by a new highly sensitive six-axis sensor
- Dual analog sticks are concave instead of convex and have a better contact surface for more precision
- L2/R2 buttons are convex instead of concave (more like an Xbox controller)
- A new “Options” button replaces the standard start and select buttons
- New “Share” button allows you to stream game play in real time
- LED light bar that will allow for the new sensor bar to provide 3D recognition of the Dual Shock 4
- Newly improved sensor bar with 4 speakers for enhanced audio fidelity
It sounds like Sony is packing tons of new features into the Dual Shock 4, hopefully it’s the only one you ever need. I wouldn’t even want to know the MSRP on one.
