So far we know little and less about Bungie’s first Post-Halo project dubbed Destiny. Some purported details have surfaced since the titles announcement. Bungie is set to reveal more details about Destiny at this years GDC (Game Developers Conference) Destiny will be kicking off a new series of games published by Activision.
Bungie’s design director Joe Staten and art director Christopher Barrett will address the GDC crowd with a lecture about the developer following their creative heart, and subsequently taking the leap of faith away from Microsoft. The lecture entitled “Brave New World: New Bungie IP” will assuredly be one of the highlights of GDC 2013.
We have a short synopsis of the lecture here:
“Two decades of success in the gaming industry is no small feat, but after ten years of Halo, Bungie found themselves faced with a tremendous challenge: to build a whole new world, filled with even more amazing mysteries, places, creatures, and opportunities for player investment. For the first time ever, Bungie creative directors will discuss their world building techniques, from concept to production. Attendees will walk away with key insights into Bungie’s battle-tested design process. They’ll get a glimpse of the brave new world that has been built, a place where the next ten years of great Bungie adventures will unfold.”
The Game Developer’s Conference will convene on March 25-29 at the Moscone Convention Center in San Francisco. There’s no specifics of when and where Bungie will hit the stage but, we will keep you posted.
